As “The Computers” continue to push into the creative spaces that for so long defined humanity we’re forced to question: What is ART? What is an Artist? How does it unite or separate us? How does it make us FEEL?
We’ve been lucky enough to be able to be creative at OUR Art: making delicious BEERS! From Classic Styles to boundary pushing innovations we’ve continued to refine and dial in what we’re doing…how we define our Art as Brewers. As we’ve honed that skill we’ve also befriended with a wide variety of Artists, in a wide variety of mediums!
As part of the celebration and recognition of the creative activities we pursue we put together our Annual ‘State of the Art’ festival! A way to celebrate and showcase what Art means and how it’s defined by the creators and the viewer! This will be our third year having the event, and each year it’s continued to evolve!
This year we’re kicking it off on Friday with the “Art Inspired by Music” Art Show (6-9PM)! Saturday we’re holding the Art Fair: where you can meet the Artist’s themselves and support them directly! We’ll also have a number of interactive Art: where you can get your hands dirty making some Art for yourself! We’ll have Art, Artists, Live Music and BEER! Sunday: we’re just going to chill! Come by anyway though!
SUPER excited to be involved with the 56 Music Fix this year!!!! An absolutely STACKED Annual, Multi-Venue Live Music Festival in neighboring Mount Prospect! They’ve been bringing this wonderful celebration of Live Music to venues all around Mount Prospect for 8 years now and every year it gets better! This year it’s August 14-17, Three days of awesome live music! Local bands playing Local venues for the Locals! You can check out Booti Grooviani (one of OUR favorites!) at Mrs. P and Me! You can check out bands at Red Barn! You can check out bands at Station 34! You can check out bands under the tent in the Park!
We’ll also have some Live Music here at Mikerphone! We’re super stoked to have SECRET TAPE! A live band that exclusively plays the music of Tony Hawk Pro Skater! They’ll be playing here at Mikerphone as part of State of the Art, so we’ll be sure to include some skateboarding focused touches to our event this year! Be sure to check them out here at State of the Art (or elsewhere if you can’t make it!)
We’re also excited to cap it all off with a visit from The Biker Dude! He’ll be starting at 4PM serving up the best Smashburger that you’ll ever eat! From the quality of the meat he sources from his specialty butcher down to the smashing of the burger, the Biker Dude meticulously controls each aspect of the craft, creating one of the best Classic Smashburgers around! Be sure to get in line before the line starts, because the secrets out! The Biker Dude’s Burgers RULE!
